Hot in Fresno

Hey friends! I hope my fellow Floridians survived big, fat, bipolar Hurricane Irma. What a monster of a storm, right!? Praying for those who are still recovering from her wrath.

Well during my recent PNW (Pacific Northwest) trip, I connected with Fresno, Calif. stye blogger, Rema Koligan of Jewelry & Jeans. Attorney turned restaurateur and style momma of 2, Rema and I braved the 110 degree heat wave to shoot a post-Labor Day look. Let me tell you, Florida has humidity, but the central valley oven was fierce!

Her chic romper set from Shein showed off her fit figure, while her oversized off-the shoulder NY&Co white sweater offered a nice transition into Fall. Check out more look details on her blog, and see below for more of my favorite pics. ~faith & glory

Getting ready for "I do"

Hey friends! So I was recently in Oregon attending my dear friend Jessica's mountain I do's to her beloved, Kent. I was so honored to not only be a guest, but capture her getting ready photos.

Of course, in wedding day fashion, the bride and her maids were running a wee bit late. But no worries! It gave me plenty of time to explore the fruit fields at Mt. View Orchards and take in snow-capped Mount Hood.

Once the ladies arrived, the real action began. Documenting the "getting ready" session is such a treasured tradition for weddings. It's a time where madness meets mimosas amid boisterous laughter and exaggerated lashes. And, of course, no getting ready session is complete without a pair crying, yet adorable, toddler flower girls.

Oregon make-up artist, Samantha Glam, worked her magic before Jessica slipped into her Hayley Paige gown and Kate Spade glitter sneakers. Enjoy some of my favorite moments before she walked down the aisle. ~faith & glory

The Bianka's style

Hey friends! I recently spent an early Saturday morning with a LOVELY new style blogger, Bianka Walker. She has grown so much and established her own style in such a short amount of time. She is now a rewardStyle member (liketoknowit, anyone?) and is quickly climbing the Miami fashion ranks!

The first look was all about a casual Saturday morning  - you know the one where you're running errands, but still want to look cute? Courtesy of H&M and Zara, Bianka wore ripped demin shorts, blue gingham bell-sleeve top and a JORD watch to boot. To "set the scene," I spotted an artsy coffee and baked goods shop, called Chef Sucre Cafe in Coral Gables.

Our second look was straight off the racks of Zara. Her white lace off-the-shoulder top and fuchsia pants paired beautifully with the Coral Gables City Hall courtyard. It's literally my new favorite location! Check out how sophisticated and chic Bianka looked! :) ~ faith & glory

Maria + Mckenzie // mommy and me in Coral Gables

Hey, friends! I've always heard about "mommy and me" sessions and seen plenty of photos of this trend - matching outfits, rosy cheeks, glittery backdrops - on Pinterest. I always thought it was an adorable idea to capture such a strong and special bond. A lot of my mom friends are always selflessly behind the camera taking pics of their little ones' every moment and milestone but rarely set aside time to be IN the photo. Well, kids grow up fast as do those moments. So I completely understood how Maria felt when she reached out to me to do a session with her adorable and sassy 5-year-old hija, Mckenzie.

M&M donned matching white floral dresses, tan strappy sandals and flower crowns. I tell you, style, hair, makeup and dimples were on POINT. And the historic Coral Gables Ruins set the scene for a chic yet enchanting session.

So after we opened Spotify on my phone to find the hottest Disney movie soundtracks, the dancing, laughing and picture-taking began. Enjoy some of my favorite moments. ~faith & glory

Summer editorial: ripped jeans and red lips

Hey friends! I hope you are staying cool in this heat wave! I think a piece of me melts when I step foot outside of my house. LOL. But anyways, I did a recent editorial shoot with local college student and model, Andrea Troncoso in the Miami Design District. MDD is known for its art galleries, high-end stores and avant garde architecture. But I wanted to take a step back and just focus on technique and the model. So no pretty backgrounds here; just a pretty girl with overly ripped boyfriend jeans and deep red lipstick. Needless to say, I think she nailed it. Check out some of my favorites. ~ faith & glory

Diego + Veronica // engagement session on North Miami Beach

Friends, I'm in love with these two! Newly engaged Diego (lawyer) and Veronica (lifestyle blogger) live in the D.C. area, but call Miami their second home. They wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of the day-to-day, so these lovebirds flew down for Memorial Weekend and celebrated the beginning of forever in one of their favorite places.

I had such a blast documenting their playfulness and love chemistry. Their story is so sweet and beautiful. I hope you enjoy some of the treasured moments! ~faith & glory

It's a haute summer!

So, we're finally in the sizzling throes of summer here in South Florida. The humidity, the sun, and the mosquitoes are just a few of my not-so-favorites things of summer, but working with Daniella Duque-Angel (model and lifestyle blogger) made it a "haute" summer in our latest collab.

We had to fight off a little rain, unrecognizable spiders and thirsty mosquitoes to get these breathtaking shots. Check them out! ~faith & glory

Wall Family

The Wall family (Tripp, Meagan, Brantley and Nugget) - or as I like to call them, Georgia peaches - hail from our neighbor state. They've lived here in South Florida for a few years, but will be heading back to their stomping grounds this summer. But before they leave, they wanted to remember a piece of Miami in one of their favorite family spots - Key Biscayne.

I have to say, I had such a wonderful time capturing the Walls. They are kind-hearted and fun-loving with strong family values. And their little two-year-old, Brantley was a dream! His smile with dimples will make all the girls blush! And his "brother" Nugget was so tame...he didn't even bark! I hope you adore some of my favorite moments of the Wall family. ~faith & glory

Andres + Daniella // happy anniversary!

Andres and Daniella recently celebrated three years of marriage. They met in South Florida when Daniella was visiting the area from Colombia. They met on Miami Beach, fell in love and did the long distance thing until he put a ring on it! So now it was only fitting to celebrate their third year of marriage bliss where they first met. Enjoy a few moments of Mr. and Mrs. Angel!

Winter // class of 2017

Tutus, lakes, bomber jackets and smoke bombs! My first senior portrait was, needless to say, a "Winter wonderland." My young friend, Winter Elms, is graduating from high school, and she asked me to do her senior portraits. I was thrilled and honored, of course. She is funny, down-to-earth, has a beautiful spirit and is a true God's girl.

So I had been wanting to do senior portraits for quite some time but wasn't impressed by what I'd seen by other photographers. So I knew if I got the chance, I would maintain my shooting style, yet fully incorporate the senior's personal style.

Miss Winter is a dancer, loves pretty dresses, and has a flair for "cool." I mean, check out the converse kicks and bomber jacket!

We travelled to my favorite secret location to capture some stunning moments. Check out some of my faves. ~faith and glory

Kristen // part 2

I love me some Kristen Kim of The Caffeinated Kuza! This is our second collaboration, so it was like having lunch with one of your besties by now. She is a sweet and talented girl boss in the making. Her blog focuses on all things fashion, travel, food and fun - and she does this all while pursuing an engineering degree. She's a smart cookie, folks!

For this session, the look focused on a "boho summer" vibe. Check out some of my faves with her, and let me know what ya think. And be sure to check out more of her look and where to find those pieces on her blog. ~faith & glory

Modern bride in la la land

What better way to ring in the wedding season than with a style bridal shoot? I love me some brides! Lifestyle blogger, Amy Michaels, and I connected on IG and we collaborated with floral designer Pistils and Petals to create a modern and minimalist look. Amy is an actual bride-to-be, so it was a match made in collaboration. She is the sweetest gem, and it shows in the photos!

We hit up (well, snuck into) Plant the Future's La La Land garden in Wynwood to get a few shots of Amy in her Lulu's white beaded maxi dress and her cymbidium orchids bouquet.

I love the contrast of the jungle backdrop against the white walls. And the bouquet added a pop of unique elegance.  Enjoy some of my faves from the shoot. ~faith & glory~

Juan + Melissa // married!

Juan and Melissa tied the knot a couple of weeks ago in Vegas, and we thought to capture some beautiful moments post-wedding. We met up at Tree Tops Park and took to the rustic forest and lake to dance (to Train's Marry Me to be exact), laugh and treasure a union and love that goes back to high school! Yes, it was a long time coming...lol.

I hope you fall in love with a few of my favorite moments of the newlyweds. ~faith & glory~

La familia // four generations

I love it when clients come from overseas for a family photoshoot!

The Timothee family came from New York and Spain to celebrate the 80th birthday of the family matriarch, Clara, in Pompano Beach. It was a magical and sentimental moment for the family, and I was so honored to capture their story during Spring Break.

Clara's husband passed away a few years ago, right before they planned to do a family photoshoot. Since they are all separated by a continent, it's been rather difficult to gather the family at once...until now.

Caritza, the granddaughter-in-law reached out to me via Instagram and explained how special this reunion was to the family and how she wanted family portraits to document their rare reunion. She, her husband Gabriel and their uber-adorable and rambunctious daughter, Mila came from Brooklyn. While Clara's son (Rafa), daughter-in-law (Rosa) and granddaughter (Macky) flew in from Madrid.

We enjoyed the quiet spaces of Pompano Beach on a late afternoon. The air was cool, so the Spring Breakers were almost non-existent during our visit! There was so much love and laughter among the six adults and adventure with the two-year-old.

Enjoy some of my favorites moments of four generations with la familia.

A year later....

It's been a year since I started my photography business, and I tell you never in a million years would I thought my life would evolve in such a way. I've always admired - even obsessed - over the art of photography. I highly respected photographers, but never thought I could be one, you know?

Since Kaleena Carol-Ann Photography came into focus (lol, pun intended), God has opened unimaginable doors and allowed me to pour my passion into telling people's stories. I've met all walks of life. And I'm so thankful for the clients who have become friends. It's been more than a business, but a blessing and a ministry.

For more chit-chat, let's do lunch, book a session, and let's make magic happen! ~faith & glory~

Kristina // international girl boss

We recently commemorated one of the more poignant holidays - International Women's Day. It celebrates social, economic and political achievements around the world. This year punctuated the freedom to #BeBoldForChange.

I recently had the pleasure of collaborating with a woman who is making her mark in the US. Born and raised in Russia, Kristina Salmina is an international lifestyle blogger and girl boss in the making. She's not only a beauty with a commanding accent, but she has a tenacious spirit and heart of gold. She's been in the US for only a few years, and she's already started to create a name for herself in the fashion and modeling industry.

Check her out!

Yashi + Erik / styled elopement

You know what I love about weddings? When they're intimate...you know when you're saying "I do" in front of the people that matter most to you. And I love a good 'ole fashioned elopement. So this past weekend, I teamed up with one of my favorite lifestyle bloggers, Yashodhara (Yashi) Suri of thehipnip.com and her long-time bae, Erik, to create a boho-inspired elopement. I've collaborated with Yashi on other projects, and it's always a riot when we get together!

Although the session was a styled shoot, I really wanted to capture who they were as a couple. Yashi's natural wardrobe style is modern boho, so the flower crown and flowy spaghetti strap dress were necessary must-haves. For Erik, we kept it classic and simple with a burgundy suspender-bowtie set. ~faith & glory~
